Abbeyfield is governed by a Board of Trustees, which comprise volunteer members selected for their particular expertise in the housing, care or financial sectors. The board meets regularly to decide aims and formulate policies, set targets and review performance of the organisation.
The Board has full responsibility for the management of the organisation at a national level, but can delegate any powers to sub-committees.
- The Board supports the Executive Management Team in all matters relating to residents services and the development of new and improved facilities
- They agree services, monitor the progress of strategic plans, and determine standards
- They seek to promote the influence of Abbeyfield at national and regional levels in relation to the care and welfare of older people generally
